I am so thrilled to offer live painting services for your weddings and events!
Live painting provides entertainment and a memorable experience for your guests- and more importantly-
a cherished, timeless keepsake for you!
I just can't wait to paint your special day for you! XO, -L :)

"We are absolutely in awe of the watercolor painting Laura created of our first dance. From the moment we reached out, she was kind, professional, and genuinely excited to hear about our vision for our garden wedding reception. On the day of our wedding, she arrived early to set up discreetly and began painting the background — it was already beautiful before the reception even started!
The final painting is so much more than a keepsake — it felt like a memory frozen in time. What I love most is how it feels like us — not just a moment, but the feeling of the whole evening, wrapped into one stunning piece.
If you're even thinking about hiring a live painter for your wedding — do it. And if you're lucky enough to book Laura, you’ll have a work of art to cherish for the rest of your lives. We’ll be hanging ours in our home forever.

Most commonly, I paint a watercolor scene from your event on 18" x 24" paper. Most live painters paint in acrylic, which makes my watercolor scenes unique. However, I have painted hats, jackets, and I am open to discussing any ideas that you may have that are relevant to your event or unique to your goals!
For weddings, commonly requested scenes are couples at the alter, couples walking down the aisle or a more formal portrait. Please note, that I prefer to avoid cake cutting and first dance scenes, as my end time is the same as your photographer and videographer. This allows them to capture the reveal prior to their departure. Depending on the timeline, a cake cutting or first dance image is tough to complete prior to the end time and therefor, compromises the quality of the end piece.

It's simple! Once booked, I will work closely with you or your event planner to understand the event type, theme, color palette, space of the event, as well as the desired subject matter for the art, so that I can show up prepared! I will need to understand the timeline of your wedding or event and I will plan the start time of your painting accordingly. I will work on your piece throughout the event. The painting will be completed and ready for the reveal fifteen minutes prior to your photographer and videographer’s end times, so that they are able to capture this special moment.
I require approximately 4' x 4' area of space- I enjoy being in the middle of an event for guests to fully enjoy the experience, but I do need just a bit of buffer so that I am not bumped. If I am able to drive to your event, I will bring my easel. If I must fly to your event, I ask that a table is provided. I will need a chair and access to water. If I will be working outside during full sun, I ask that an umbrella/covering is provided (as sometimes the white paper is blinding in the bright sun!). I ask for both venue/s and planner/contact information upon signing the contract. If this information changes at any point, I kindly ask to be updated.
One week prior to the event, I will need a finalized event timeline, confirmation of the subject matter to be painted and any updated travel or contact information.
On the day of your event, I need access to the space where I will be painting at least an hour before the painting is to begin. I will show up, set up, change into some fancy shoes and then get started! It’s SO fun!
Artwork created on paper can be turned into art prints for family members, thank you stationery and more (priced upon request).
A travel fee will be added to any event outside a 30 mile radius of Quincy, Illinois.
Please contact us for pricing and availability. Dates will only be held once a 50% non-refundable deposit has been made and a contract has been signed. Remaining balance is due one week prior to your event.
